Call me a liar

So earlier I lied, I said I was done with the posters...but I did another. I guess I like doing them so much it was hard to sit around doing nothing when I had an idea in my head for another poster. So here it is, number 7 of my posters, i felt the Robot Factory needed one last poster design. So hopefully in the future on this blog I will be having more non-robot poster related design posts to stir things up a bit. Hope you like this one, it's probably (most likely) the last one.

The Triple Threat

So here we have my final three posters from the series i've been designing for myself and the band Robot Factory. For now this is it until I figure out how to get these screen printed (fingers crossed because I'm just learning). You may recognize one of them from a previous post but I changed to background to make it fit in with the series a little better and for that reason I am re-posting it. Enjoy.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is right...

So I've always had an interest in animation, in fact it was my original choice of art majors before I didn't feel like learning to draw that well and I found my love for Graphic Design, so when I had a chance to create a video for my class I decided to go for an animated kind of short. So in the vein of South Park, I cut out my pieces of paper and scanned them in and animated them all for the love of you guys....or for the love of the grade. Hope you like it!

P.S. If you haven't yet, check out my Cool Site links on the right of the page. The Daily Monster just ended today but you can go back and watch all hundred of the wonderful monsters Mr. 344 drew. Also, my "other" site is in there for you to take a gander at and even contact me if you'd like, and even check out Digg (my fav) and Gizmodo for a tech news lovin' good time.

Raindrops keep falling on my Head

And here's another poster, number 4 to be exact, in my small series of posters that i'm designing around the theme of robots and me. When I did this one my girlfriend criticized me saying, "it's doesn't make sense that his thought bubble is raining on him". And to that I say, doesn't everyone get down from their own thoughts sometimes? I mean, isn't the source of most of our sadness our very own selves? I would say so, so this poster actually has alot more personal meaning than most things I design, despite what my girlfriend will tell you. Look close and see many little symbols and meaning, I dare you. Number 5 is on the way, hopefully it will be the best of the bunch because for now its the last of the series. Thanks for visiting and have a GRAND weekend.

Oh poor poor comp...

Oh poor poor comp who never got chosen, though I loved you and fought for your survival (Sam too, thanks) you were never meant for the big world of Art Institute, maybe one day you will resurface for another purpose and make someone else happy with your delicious display of pattern and colors, but for now its to the blog with you. Enjoy.

A Landmark in Blog History

Today we reach an important landmark in blogging history as we know it. That's right, Curtis Elliott has reached his 10th posting on his very first blog. woo hoo let the fireworks fly. So to celebrate this double digit post I will do a double post. Today we have progress on the series of posters I'm designing with the intention of the finals being screen printed. One of these designs you may recognize from an earlier posting, but this one has been redisigned and refocused as a band poster, as it was originally supposed to become before it came to life as a Valentines poster. I hope you enjoy the posters as much as I enjoy making them, see you at number 11.

Comps from the great beyond!

So as I mentioned in an earlier post, some comps just never get picked but I like them anyways and hate to see them go to waste. Funny thing is, the comp I posted on that post got chosen and will soon be going to print...ironic. Anyways, here are two more comps, one from the same Audio Production series, and one from a project I was working on today, that will never get used but I like them anywho. I guess they have a design only the designer could love, enjoy!

Some photos for ya

So I took these photos a little while back of my girlfriend and her friends inspired by the photographer David Bailey. The top two are my girlfriend and the rest her friends. I didn't have anything new to post today so this is what you get, aren't I a nice blog guy? thanks.

Some more robot fun

So I kinda fell off the whole "robot a day" theme but I thought about it and they were sucking because I wasn't allowing myself enough time to make them nice. So anywho, I just did this poster, it's the first in a series of five posters for the band robot factory and will eventually be screen printed by me (that is if I stop being lazy and learn how to). So hope you like this poster better than the other robot drawings, thanks for stoppying by!

My Other Site...

So today I finally got around to taking my old HTML built site I did a little while back and put it online. For now though I like this site because its easier to continually update, but if you want you can check out my other site at cme301.aisites.com. The work on it is kinda old but some of its decent, Enjoy!

Robot Hugs!

Robot number two, day number two. I think the next one will be hand drawn, it would be much cooler looking that way. So anyways, probably wont put up another anything for this weekend, busy busy busy so hopefully the next robot is much cooler, have a great weekend!

Some work work

So at work many comps go un-noticed, un-printed and under appreciated. So today at work I did a comp which like many others i love so dearly but will probably not be picked for print. So in case that happens, I wana post this here for all 5 of you to see so I'm not the only one who does. Just remember, all work copywrite property of either Vision Design Studios or Art Institutes or maby me (i dunno about that one though), so don't copy...bro.

Robot Love

Well looky here, two posts in two days. If I did my math right that means one post a day, which equals pat on the back for me for keeping up with this thing! (pat pat)....so to explain this post and the image, I'm starting a project of screen printed posters, many of which will revolve around the imagery of robots. So i decided to take inspiration from Mr. Stephen Bucher and do one robot a day. In the end I guess this will give me many robots to work with and hopefully some good ones to choose from. So day one of my daily robot posting, these two are in love! A little early for Valentines day but robot love can't wait you know. So hopefully the robots get more and more fun and inventive as the days pass, thanks all you fellow workers at Vision Design(probably the only people who will ever look at this blog, and maybe my mom) for checking in and supporting my new blog. I promise better things to come in the future.

My Very Very Very Very Very First Post!

To all that come to this magical place, Welcome! This is my very first blog-o-magiger so bear with me while I try to remember to give it my loving care of at least one post a week. I started this blog mainly as a place to post my work. And by work I mean "art" and by art I mean "graphic design that I pretend is any good sometimes". So here it is, my first post, accompanied by a shameless self promotion of my logo! (re-design coming sooooooooon). thanks for coming.
